DAVID E. ROOT, M.D., M.P.H.
Corporate Medical Director
Dr. Root has practiced occupational medicine in Sacramento since 1981. He founded Sacramento Occupational Medical Group, a practice devoted exclusively to occupational medicine, in 1991. Dr. Root is certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine and in Aerospace Medicine. He is also a Certified Medical Review Officer. Dr. Root’s extensive experience includes: Hospital Commander, USAF Hospital, Takli, Thailand (1972-73); Chief of Occupational Medicine and Deputy Hospital Commander, Beale Air Force Base, Marysville, California (1973-75); Senior Medical Office/Pilot, RAF Institute of Aviation Medicine, Farnborough, England (USAF/RAF Exchange Program, 1976-78); and Chief Aeromedical Medical Advisor to the USAF Life Support System Program Office, Air Force Systems Command, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio (1978-80). After 20 years of active service as Chief Flight Surgeon and Pilot, he retired as a full Colonel in 1980. Dr. Root has received numerous honors and awards, particularly for his work with toxic exposures in the workplace.
FRED RICHARDSON, M.D., M.S.P.H.
Senior Site Medical Director
Dr. Richardson became Site Medical Director of Sacramento Occupational Medical Group’s Power Inn Road clinic in 2005. He is Board Certified in Occupational & Environmental Medicine, and is a Certified Medical Review Officer and a Qualified Medical Evaluator.
MARSHALL LEE, M.D.
Site Medical Director
Dr. Lee has been a member of the physician team at Sacramento Occupational Medical Group since 1993, and was appointed Site Medical Director of the West Sacramento clinic in 2005. Dr. Lee is also Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, and with the Department of Internal Medicine, UCD Medical Center, Sacramento. Dr. Lee received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his M.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine.
